We have just returned from New Orleans for MicroConf Americas 2025, still buzzing with insights after some incredible days immersed in the bootstrapped founder community. As software-focused attorneys, we came away with far more than notes from excellent sessions–we gained a deeper understanding of the daily challenges our clients face. From acquisition hurdles and compliance burdens to pricing models and growth strategy, the conference gave us fresh context for the decisions shaping founders building their businesses.
While the speaker lineup was impressive, the real value came between the slides. Conversations with founders over meals, in hallways, and while wandering vibrant NOLA gave us a clearer picture of what’s top-of-mind for entrepreneurs at every stage—from pre-launch to seven-figure growth. These informal discussions surfaced legal concerns, operational roadblocks, and strategic priorities that we will consider to help serve our clients better.
We came home with more than just technical takeaways. We’re returning to our practice with a greater understanding of the founder’s journey, stronger connections with people involved in software businesses, and a sharper sense of how to deliver legal advice that’s practical, timely, and aligned with the realities of running a software business.
